Canvas bell tents on raised platforms with real beds. Open May 15 – October 15.

Full and partial hookup sites. Leash-friendly paths run right along the creek.
Tent sites · $10 per night, per pet
Walk-in sites under old-growth pines, each with a picnic table and fire ring.
The two exceptions
- The vacation home — No pets in the vacation home. If you're travelling with a dog, book a cabin instead.
- The capsule — No pets in the glass-walled capsule. Our cabins and glamping tents are the pet-friendly alternatives.
Before you go into the park
Crater Lake National Park limits where dogs can go.
This catches a lot of people out. The park is welcoming to pets in developed areas, but most of the trails — including the only path down to the water — are closed to them. Worth knowing before you plan the day.
Where leashed pets are allowed
- Mazama Campground and all picnic areas
- Along established roads, and within 50 feet of the paved surface
- Parking areas and paved walkways
- Five designated trails only: Lady of the Woods, Godfrey Glen, Annie Spur Trail, Grayback Drive, and the official Pacific Crest Trail
Where they aren't
- The Cleetwood Cove Trail — the only trail down to the lake — even if your dog is carried or in a pack
- Crater Lake itself, and every stream or body of water inside the park
- All other hiking and designated ski trails
- Public buildings, including visitor centers and Crater Lake Lodge
Leashes must be six feet or shorter, and one leashed pet per person on trails. Service animals may go wherever visitors are allowed. These are the park's rules and they change — confirm on the official National Park Service pet page before your trip.

A creek they can swim in
Fort Creek runs the length of the property. No swimming allowed anywhere inside the park — here, it's the main event.
Leash-friendly paths
Creek paths, a covered bridge and a floating bridge across the lagoon. Enough to walk a dog properly without getting in the car.
Decks and fire rings
Cabin decks with chairs and BBQs, fire rings at the tent and RV sites. Somewhere for the dog to flop while you cook.
General store on site
Food, ice, firewood and supplies without driving anywhere. Last stop before the park gate.
Room to spread out
Cabins sleep up to 6 with full kitchens, so the dog isn't sharing a hotel room with the whole family.
7 miles to the south gate
Close enough to do the rim in a morning and come back to the creek in the afternoon.

- Is Crater Lake Resort pet-friendly?
- Yes. All 13 cabins, the glamping tents, the RV sites and the tent sites welcome pets. Pet fee is $25 per night, per pet for cabins and glamping, and $10 per night, per pet for RV and tent sites. The two exceptions are the vacation home and the capsule, where pets are not allowed.

- Can I bring my dog into Crater Lake National Park?
- Yes, but the park restricts where pets can go. Leashed pets are allowed on roads, parking areas, paved walkways, picnic areas, Mazama Campground, and five designated trails. They are not allowed on the Cleetwood Cove Trail, on other hiking trails, in any body of water in the park, or inside public buildings. The park updates these rules, so check the official NPS pet page before you go.
- Can my dog swim at Crater Lake?
- No — the park prohibits pets from entering Crater Lake or any stream or body of water inside the park. Your dog can swim in Fort Creek here at the resort, which is one reason a lot of guests with dogs base themselves here rather than in the park.
- Are all the cabins pet-friendly?
- Yes — every one of the 13 cabins, across all 6 layouts, is pet-friendly. That includes the creekside cabins, the family creekside, the deluxe bay-window cabin, the studio, the standard and the two-bedroom.
- Is there anywhere on the property my dog can be off-leash?
- Pets should stay leashed on the property out of courtesy to other guests and to the wildlife around the creek. There are leash-friendly paths along Fort Creek and a floating bridge across the lagoon — plenty of room to walk without going far.
- How many pets can I bring?
- The pet fee is charged per pet, per night, so more than one is fine. If you're bringing several, mention it when you book or call (541) 381-2349 so we can put you in the right cabin or site.
- Do you have a weight or breed restriction?
- We don't publish a weight or breed restriction. If you have a large dog or several dogs, call (541) 381-2349 before booking and we'll make sure the unit you pick suits them.
- Can I leave my dog alone in the cabin?
- Please don't leave a pet unattended in a cabin or tent. If you're heading into the park for the day and can't take the dog, plan around the park's pet rules — dogs are not allowed on most trails, so a rim drive with paved-area stops works better than a hike.
- What's the cancellation policy?
- A deposit equal to the first night's stay is required at booking. 100% refund if cancelled 30+ days before arrival. No refund for cancellations within 29 days, late check-in, early check-out, or weather (unless the resort closes for an emergency). Read full policy →
