free Fort Klamath Museum: North 1/4M. See a model of Fort Klamath and Indian Burial Site.

 

free Headwaters of Fort Creek: North 1/2M to Kimball State Park sign. Turn right onto paved road. Go 1/2 M then right, dirt forest road. Go to Post 991, take a right, go to Post 995, take a left, go a few hundred yards and turn right down a steep driveway to a camp site. Park and walk 200 feet to headwaters.

 

free Wood River Day Use Area: North 1/2M to Kimball State Park sign. Turn right onto paved road. Go 1M and see the sign for Day Use Area. Turn left and drive to parking area. Boardwalk follows river and is handicap accessible.

 

free Kimball State Park: North 1/2M to Kimball State Park sign. Follow signs to park. At entrance of park is the headwaters of the Wood River. Park near cattleguard and take a short trail to the headwaters.

 

free Fish Hatchery: South 4M to fish hatchery sign. Turn left and go several hundred yards. Take quarters to buy food for huge trout.

 

free Mare's Eggs: South 1M and turn right onto Loosely Road. Follow road until it ends. Turn right and take first left (toward Medford). After 4M, you will see the Winema National Forest sign. Go 400 yards and park on left. Take trail to creek and see Mare's Eggs in creek.

 

free Agency Lake: South 5M to Indian Agency and Mt. Mazama water bottling place. Take road to right. Road takes you to and follows lake shore. There are several parks: one is where the Wood River runs into the lake and one is a wetlands. Limit one trout in Agency Lake. Boating and personal watercraft allowed.

 

free Train Mountain: South 10M and turn left on South Chiloquin (by church). Go 1M and turn right into parking lot. Free train rides on Sunday 10:00am-3:00pm Memorial Day to Labor Day.

 

free Collier Park Logging Museum: South 7 miles on Hwy 62. Enter Hwy 97 northbound. Go 4-5M. Museum is on left.

 

free Hiking Trails: Pinnacles (13M to trailhead) - Go north 1/2M to Kimball State Park sign. Turn right onto paved road and continue past Kimball State Park. Go straight off paved road onto gravel and head uphill. At .4M past pavement, there is a fork in the road. Go left. Continue up Sun Pass Mt. to MP 16. Just past MP 16 you'll see a dirt road to the left. Road is marked with #2304 and you'll see the Pinnacle Trailhead 4M sign. Trail is 1M, easy with a slight incline. Most of trail is gravel but some is dusty. No water or bathrooms available. No pets allowed. Trail follows Annie Creek Canyon Rim with great views of pinnacles and goes into Crater Lake National Park.

 

free Waterfalls; Hwy 138: Take the north entrance out of Crater Lake National Park. Take Hwy 138 to Diamond Lake and Roseburg. All along Highway 138, you will see waterfalls. Some are located near the parking areas and some require a hike. Stop at Diamond Lake Campground information booth for a brochure about the waterfalls.
